About Slachtstraat

Slachtstraat Filmtheatre is an arthouse cinema, cultural centre and catering facility in the city centre of Utrecht. Slachtstraat is located in the former Filmtheater ’t Hoogt, located on the Slachtstraat, a sidestreet away from the vibrant Neude square.

Slachstraat openend on april 14th 2022. This was established due to a collaboration between Utrechts Monumentenfonds and filmmaker and theaterowner Jos Stelling. Together with Louis Hartlooper Complex and Springhaver Theater, Slachtstraat is his third filmtheatre. On the first and second floor it contains three screeningrooms and 200 seats. The theatre is set in a French ambiance (Paris, late 19th century).

The weekly film program is interspersed with special events and film series, such as the Timeless in Slachstraat (filmclassics) and the weekly Sneak Previews, both programs also attendable for English speaking visitors.
